Daughter of death.

Alia Keralis just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesn’t know she is being hunted by people who think her very existence could spark a world war. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringer—a direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.

Together.

Two girls will face an army of enemies—mortal and divine—determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. Tested beyond the bounds of their abilities, Diana and Alia must find a way to unleash hidden strengths and forge an unlikely alliance. Because if they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.

Review:

This was my first ever Leigh Bardugo book, so I must be one of the few people who might have missed the Grisha trilogy or the Six of Crows duology.

So, starting of with the cover for this book, I love it, actually I love all covers from the DC Icons series yet (I think the only cover That hasn’t come out yet is the Superman one, but of it follows the style of the previous ones I’m sure I’ll enjoy it). I find this cover very pleasing and beautiful, it is dark but also appealing. I was really interested in this series when I first heard about it, I’m not the biggest fan of DC or comics in general but having some ya authors giving life to these superheroes was appealing and interesting, so I knew I had to get them all.

Starting of with the writing, this book is beautifully written, and action packed, I got hooked since the first page, however life had prevented me from finishing it when I so desired to, leaving me with only a few slots to occasionally read one chapter and having the desire to finish the entire book. I loved the characters and story I was always anxious to see how the action would follow and how the action would develop, I had high expectations for this book, and this one exceeded all of them.

I hope that Batman: Nightwalker is as good as this one ( which according to GoodReads rating isn’t) but Batman is one of my favorite super heroes so I’m anxious to see what Marie Lu did with it
